River Restaurants, Ltd. operates three restaurants with 3 different concepts that set us apart from any other restaurants on the river.
All three restaurants are located in 2 adjacent buildings on the San Antonio River Walk.
Each restaurant features a different theme to cater to the various tastes and budgets of River Walk patrons.
MICHELINO’S is the original of the 3 restaurants. It has operated under the same name since 1973. Michelino’s offers a casual yet sophisticated atmosphere. The menu features traditional Italian favorites made with fresh ingredients that will compliment the extensive wine list. Michelino’s is located on the horseshoe bend of the river and offers multi level terrace, and indoor seating.
CAFÉ OLE is a traditional Mexican Restaurant which began operating in 1983 as Cascarones. The name changed to Café Ole in 1989. It is located on the river level of the River Walk. Café Ole features, traditional tex-mex cuisine, including sizzling fajitas, quesadillas, and enchiladas. It is famous for its 60oz Margarita.
LONE STAR CAFÉ is located on the street level, above Michelino’s and Café Ole at 237 Losoya; Lone Star was established in 1981 to bring a taste of
Texasto the River Walk. The restaurant features,
Texasfavorites like Chuck Wagon Chili, Hand Cut Steaks, and Chicken Fried Steak with hearty Gravy. Lone Star café has the largest balcony overlooking the river, as well as indoor seating. All three establishments can cater to an array of events in any of the dining areas, as well as an adjacent Banquet facility that is unique in the fact that any of the three cuisines can be featured. The various rooms can be separated or opened up to accommodate small and intimate events or large functions.
